Pine Labs Hits 5-Quarter Revenue High with 24% Growth and 6X Profit Surge
By Effie Foxtrot · 30 October 2026

Pine Labs has reported its fastest revenue growth in five quarters, reaching ₹806 crore in Q2 FY27. For fintech professionals, the results signal a successful shift toward international diversification and high-margin product monetization, as the company leverages AI-driven operational efficiencies and new UPI frameworks to scale its commerce platform across the Global South.
What was announced
Pine Labs delivered a 24% year-on-year revenue increase for the second quarter of FY27, underpinned by a significant expansion in transaction volume and international reach. The group now processes approximately 25 million transactions daily across its various business lines, representing a 22% increase compared to the previous year. Total platform Gross Transaction Value (GTV) reached approximately $46.5 billion (₹4.45 lakh crore) across 229 crore transactions.
The quarter was marked by a shift in monetization strategy, with 29% of Digital In-store Transaction Processing (DITP) GTV now linked to volume-based monetization, up from 15% a year ago. Product velocity remains high, with 14% of the quarter’s revenue generated by products launched within the last two years. Geographically, 15% of revenue now originates from markets outside India, with Southeast Asian revenue growing 40% YoY and the UAE business surpassing 100,000 daily transactions.
Financial performance showed strong margin expansion, with Adjusted EBITDA rising 27% YoY to ₹155 crore, representing a 19.2% margin. Profit After Tax (PAT) grew sixfold to ₹39 crore. Operationally, the company has integrated AI deeply into its development cycle, with AI agents now contributing approximately 89% of code changes. Looking ahead, Pine Labs is positioning itself to capitalize on the UPI MDR framework for transactions above ₹2,000, noting that 65% of its UPI GTV currently falls within this ticket size. The company has also committed to a rollout of 10 lakh soundboxes over the medium term to deepen retail penetration.
"Q2 was an all-round quarter—growth across acceptance and issuing, 15% of revenues from global markets, and 14% from products launched only in the last two years,"
Amrish Rau, CEO, Pine Labs
The companies involved
Pine Labs is a leading merchant commerce platform that provides financing and last-mile retail transaction technology. Operating across more than 22 markets, the company has established a dominant position in India's digital payments landscape before expanding its footprint into Southeast Asia and the Middle East. It provides credit processing services in over 17 markets and is currently extending its Malaysia-based operational playbook to the UAE, Philippines, and Singapore.
The company’s platform encompasses in-store and online payment acceptance, issuing services, and "agentic commerce." Its issuing business, which grew 31% YoY this quarter, covers value pools such as employee benefits, corporate gifting, and mobility services like Bharat Yatra. Pine Labs maintains a strong liquidity position, reporting a net cash balance of ₹2,345 crore as of September 30, 2026. Under the leadership of CEO Amrish Rau, the firm has focused on maintaining EBITDA positivity while reinvesting efficiency gains from its OpenAI partnership and AI integration into new product categories and international expansion.
What FF News has reported before
FF News has closely followed Pine Labs' aggressive international expansion and its pivot toward AI-integrated commerce. In October 2026, the company expanded its cross-border capabilities through a partnership with WEBXPAY to launch India-to-Sri Lanka Cross-Border UPI Payments. This followed the launch of a Unified Payments and Merchant Engagement Platform in Singapore earlier that month.
The company's focus on high-value partnerships was also evident in its strategic gift card tech partnership extension with Woolworths Group in September 2026. Furthermore, Pine Labs' recent technological shift was highlighted by its collaboration with Google Cloud to launch AI-Driven Agentic Commerce for Indian SMBs, a move that directly aligns with the autonomous transaction capabilities demonstrated at the Global Fintech Fest 2026.
What this means
Pine Labs is demonstrating that "agentic commerce" and AI-led development are moving from experimental phases to core margin drivers. The fact that 89% of code changes are now AI-contributed suggests a fundamental shift in the cost structure of scaling fintech platforms, putting immense pressure on legacy competitors to modernize their development stacks or face widening efficiency gaps.
Furthermore, the company’s focus on the UPI MDR framework for transactions over ₹2,000 highlights a critical maturation of the Indian ecosystem. As the industry moves away from zero-MDR models, the ability to monetize high-ticket UPI volume will separate the sustainable platforms from those reliant on venture subsidies. The successful expansion into the UAE and SEA further proves that Indian payment playbooks are highly exportable to other emerging markets in the Global South.
