Valu Jordan has officially launched the first phase of its operations in the Kingdom, following a successful soft launch period earlier this year. For fintech professionals, this move signals a significant cross-border expansion of Egyptian financial technology into the Jordanian market, leveraging a specialized financing license to provide regulated Buy-Now, Pay-Later services within an evolving digital economy.

What was announced

Valu Jordan, a subsidiary of the MENA-based Valu Group, announced the formal commencement of its business during a press conference in Amman. The company began its operations in the first quarter of 2026 after securing a final specialized financing license from the Central Bank of Jordan. This regulatory approval allows the firm to offer flexible payment solutions and Buy-Now, Pay-Later (BNPL) services to both consumers and merchants after completing all required operational procedures.

The launch follows a period of technological and operational setup where Valu Jordan established its headquarters in King Hussein Business Park and opened three physical branches in strategic locations: Sweifieh Village, King Hussein Business Park, and Taj Mall. The company’s service model provides financing plans for up to 60 months, integrated across a network of partners in sectors such as retail, e-commerce, education, electronics, and consumer goods. These services are delivered through both digital platforms and point-of-sale terminals.

To support its credit infrastructure, Valu Jordan has integrated with local licensed partners for credit information and risk management. This localized approach aims to adapt the data-driven model developed by its parent company in Egypt to the specific requirements of the Jordanian market. The company has also focused on hiring a local team of Jordanian talent to manage its operations and merchant relationships, ensuring that its digital experience aligns with the preferences of local consumers and businesses.

"Jordan today offers significant opportunities to build a more open digital economy that can benefit from financial innovation, supported by the continued development of the payment ecosystem, an evolving regulatory environment, and the growing adoption of digital solutions by individuals and businesses. Attracting regional companies to the market is about more than investment; it is also about the value they bring to the ecosystem through partnerships, knowledge exchange, and solutions that respond to market needs. We see Valu’s presence in Jordan as an opportunity further to strengthen diversity and innovation within the fintech sector, while building on the strong economic and trade ties between Jordan and Egypt and the opportunities they create for exchanging expertise and developing cross-market business models."

The companies involved

Valu, legally registered as U Consumer Finance S.A.E., is a universal financial technology powerhouse operating across the Middle East and North Africa. The company made history as the first fintech provider of consumer finance to be listed on the Egyptian Exchange (EGX: VALU.CA), a move that highlighted its growth within the regional market. Its expansion into Jordan is supported by the corporate infrastructure of Valu Group and its connection to EFG Holding, a major financial services institution in the region.

The Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) plays a critical role in this expansion as the primary regulator. The CBJ has been instrumental in developing the country’s financial inclusion framework and digital payment ecosystem, providing the specialized license under which Valu Jordan now operates. Valu Jordan itself has quickly established a physical and digital footprint in the Kingdom, positioning itself as a bridge between the established Egyptian fintech sector and the growing Jordanian market. The company’s presence in the King Hussein Business Park places it at the center of Jordan’s technological hub, facilitating partnerships with a wide range of local brands and institutions.

What FF News has reported before

FF News has closely tracked Valu’s expansion and its strategic partnerships across the region. In September 2026, we reported on how Valu Jordan Partners With Harley-Davidson Amman to Provide Flexible BNPL Payment Options, demonstrating the company’s reach into high-value lifestyle segments. This followed our coverage of their broader retail impact, such as when Valu Jordan and HyperMax Partner to Launch BNPL Solutions Across Jordan's Retail Sector.

Beyond Jordan, Valu’s regional dominance was highlighted when Valu Partners with Majid Al Futtaim to Launch Flexible Payments for MENA Entertainment. Additionally, the company’s long-standing merchant relationships were cemented when Valu Becomes Exclusive Flexible Payment Provider for IKEA Egypt in Two-Year Partnership Renewal, showcasing the firm's ability to maintain exclusive multi-year agreements with global brands.

What this means

The official entry of Valu into Jordan represents a maturing of the Levant’s fintech corridor. By securing a specialized license from the Central Bank of Jordan, Valu is not just launching a product but is validating the country’s regulatory readiness for sophisticated credit products. This move puts immediate pressure on traditional Jordanian banks and smaller local lenders to accelerate their own digital transformations or risk losing the younger, tech-savvy demographic to more agile BNPL providers. The industry must now consider whether this Egyptian-Jordanian model will become a blueprint for other MENA fintechs looking to scale across borders where regulatory environments have historically been fragmented.
