Wix Integrates Stripe’s Link to Enable AI Agent Payments for Small Businesses
By Lauren Towner · 16 October 2026

Wix has integrated Stripe’s Link digital wallet into its Symphony multi-agent system, allowing AI agents to execute payments on behalf of small businesses. This move shifts AI from a tool of insight to one of execution, enabling autonomous handling of procurement and accounts payable while maintaining human oversight through secure, time-sensitive approval workflows.
What was announced
Symphony by Wix, a standalone multi-agent system designed for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) and solopreneurs, now connects directly to Link, Stripe’s digital wallet. This integration allows Symphony’s coordinated team of AI agents to carry operational tasks through to the payment stage. While many AI tools identify problems or draft communications, this connection allows the agents to finish the task by facilitating the actual transaction.
The system is designed to handle various business scenarios autonomously. For instance, if a candle shop’s inventory drops below a specific threshold, Symphony can reorder stock from a regular supplier and process the payment overnight. It can also identify and pay business registration fees, settle supplier invoices by matching them against purchase orders, and secure spots at local events by paying entry fees before deadlines expire. In customer service scenarios, agents can issue gift cards to resolve complaints regarding late deliveries.
Security is managed through a "wallet for agents" framework. Business owners retain control by reviewing and approving every spend request via WhatsApp or SMS within a 10-minute window. Stripe facilitates these transactions using secure payment tokens or one-time virtual cards, ensuring that the agents never see the owner’s underlying payment details. The integration is currently rolling out to Symphony users with US-based Link accounts, with all payments processed in US dollars.
The companies involved
Wix.com Ltd. is a global SaaS platform that provides cloud-based web development services and business management tools. Listed on the NASDAQ, the company has expanded beyond simple website building into a broader operational layer for small businesses, culminating in the August launch of Symphony, its multi-agent AI platform.
Stripe is a dominant force in the global financial infrastructure market, providing payment processing software and application programming interfaces for e-commerce websites and mobile applications. Its Link product is a digital wallet designed to streamline the checkout experience. Stripe has increasingly focused on the "agentic" economy, positioning its infrastructure as the primary payment layer for AI-driven workflows. The company maintains a significant presence in the fintech sector, with a wide range of partnerships spanning from global logistics firms to specialized expense management platforms. This latest collaboration with Wix leverages Stripe’s ability to issue secure, virtualized payment credentials for non-human actors.
What FF News has reported before
Stripe has been aggressively expanding its footprint in automated and agent-driven finance throughout October 2026. FF News recently reported on the Meta and Sierra Launch Personal Agent Protocol with Stripe, Shopify, and Walmart, which established a framework for AI agents to interact with commerce platforms. The company also partnered with ExpenseIn to launch automated reimbursements, further streamlining business expense management. Additionally, Stripe’s strategic alliance with FedEx aimed to reduce friction in global commerce for SMBs, while its work with Stoa utilized Stripe Issuing for virtual card perks.
What this means
This announcement signals a definitive shift from "AI as a chatbot" to "AI as an employee." By giving agents the ability to move money, Wix and Stripe are addressing the primary bottleneck in business automation: the transition from digital insight to physical or financial action. This moves the needle for the SMB sector, where the "owner-operator" is often the only person authorized to make payments. Traditional banking apps and ERPs that lack agentic capabilities are now under significant pressure to provide similar secure, delegated payment frameworks. However, the 10-minute approval window raises questions about how businesses will manage high-frequency or time-sensitive procurement without creating new forms of notification fatigue for the owner.
