Fintech leaders AIR, Minds, Reap, and Pivota have partnered to bridge the gap between AI agents and secure financial transactions. By integrating identity verification with programmable stablecoin payments, the collaboration enables autonomous agents to execute purchases using a user’s verified credentials and earned benefits, solving a critical trust and authorization hurdle in the emerging agentic economy.

What was announced

The strategic partnership establishes a technical framework for "identity-powered personalized agentic commerce." The system combines AIR’s integration layer for Moca Chain’s identity infrastructure with Minds’ persistent AI platform to allow agents to act with the authority of a verified human user. This setup ensures that AI agents can recognize and claim specific user benefits, such as loyalty rewards or restricted offers, without exposing sensitive personal data.

The operational flow involves AIR enabling users to selectively share verified identity attributes and entitlements, while Minds interprets the user's intent and coordinates the purchase journey. Reap provides the financial backbone by issuing scoped payment credentials—virtual cards limited by merchant, amount, and timeframe. Pivota acts as the decision and order execution layer, selecting the optimal merchant and transaction path based on real-time data and orchestrating the order through existing commerce stacks.

The initiative will commence with a controlled use case demonstration featuring a single merchant integration. This pilot will showcase a complete agentic transaction lifecycle, from cryptographic proof of eligibility and product selection to the final authorization of a scoped payment via Reap. The goal is to allow merchants to serve "agentic users" through their existing storefront workflows without requiring a complete overhaul of their loyalty programs or promotional systems. For merchants, the partnership aims to reach qualified users more effectively without disruptions to current storefront workflows.

"AI agents should not have to interact with digital ecosystems as unverified entities. By combining Minds’ persistent understanding of the user with AIR’s privacy-preserving identity and entitlement infrastructure, we are equipping agents to act with context, consent, and strict parameters. Pivota provides the data and Reap provides the critical payment capabilities required to translate that intelligence into secure transactions. Together, we are building an agentic web where users will retain the value of their identity and reputation across every agent-led interaction."

The companies involved

Reap, a global fintech specializing in stablecoin-powered money movement, operates under the parentage of the cryptocurrency exchange Kraken. The firm has established a significant presence in the market by providing programmable card infrastructure that bridges traditional finance with digital assets. Animoca Brands, known for its extensive ecosystem in digital property rights and gaming, operates platforms such as The Sandbox. The company’s co-founder, Yat Siu, also serves as a Member of the Task Force on Promoting Web3 Development in the Hong Kong SAR, reflecting the firm's deep ties to the region's regulatory landscape.

Pivotal (referred to as Pivota in this partnership) provides the commerce decision and order execution layer. While the firm has previously expanded its footprint in the UK mortgage sector, its technology is now being applied to help AI agents choose appropriate products and transaction paths based on merchant capabilities. AIR serves as the core integration layer for Moca Chain, which is the identity infrastructure built by Animoca Brands to facilitate decentralized identity across various applications and AI agents.

What FF News has reported before

FF News has closely followed the rapid expansion of Reap’s stablecoin infrastructure. Additionally, the firm has expanded its value proposition for cardholders through a partnership detailed in Reap and Collinson Partner to Bring Priority Pass Lounge Access to Stablecoin Cardholders. What this means

This partnership addresses the "last mile" problem of AI agents: the transition from discovery to execution. While AI can find products, the lack of a secure, verified payment and identity layer has historically limited its utility to mere recommendation. By utilizing scoped, programmable cards, the industry is moving toward a model where agents are treated as legitimate economic actors rather than bot-driven security risks. This puts pressure on traditional payment gateways and identity providers to support non-human intermediaries. The success of this model will likely depend on whether merchants are willing to accept cryptographic proofs of eligibility in place of direct human interaction, potentially shifting the power balance in digital commerce toward the agent layer.
