Press Release: Noah Secures MiCA and PI Licences to Expand Stablecoin Infrastructure Across the EU | Featured Image by FF News

Noah has secured both MiCA Crypto-Asset Service Provider (CASP) and PSD2 Payment Institution (PI) licenses, allowing the infrastructure provider to facilitate regulated stablecoin transfers across the European Union. For fintech professionals, this dual-licensing removes the friction of managing fragmented local banking relationships, providing a single, compliant gateway for cross-border stablecoin and fiat payments.

What was announced

Noah has obtained regulatory approval to operate across all 27 EU member states under a unified framework. By securing both the MiCA CASP and PSD2 PI licenses, the company is now authorized to hold, exchange, and transfer stablecoins on behalf of its clients while simultaneously executing traditional fiat payments via credit transfer. This regulatory status also positions the firm to gain direct access to the SEPA network.

The speed of the approval process was a highlight of the announcement, with the PI license granted in approximately one month and the CASP license following in two months. These European credentials expand Noah’s existing regulatory footprint, which already includes Money Transmitter Licenses in the United States and a Payment Service Provider registration in Canada. Consequently, Noah’s network now supports more than 150 markets and 60 currencies, allowing businesses to convert between fiat and stablecoins with local compliance.

The infrastructure is designed to reduce the operational burden on enterprise clients. Businesses can utilize Noah’s SOC 2 Type II audited security controls and a single KYC/KYB process to launch payment services in weeks. Financially, the company reported significant momentum alongside these approvals. Following a $16 million seed extension on 7 October, Noah has raised a total of $38 million. The company has signed over 150 new customers in 2026 across the payroll, marketplace, fintech, and remittance sectors, contributing to a year-to-date revenue increase of 538% compared to the same period in 2025.

"We made a bold call early: get licensed in the toughest, largest markets first. Europe, the US and Canada are now in place, and more tier-1 markets are on the way. Every licence we add today is a market our customers can launch tomorrow."

The companies involved

Noah is a fintech infrastructure provider specializing in stablecoin-based payment solutions for the enterprise market. The company focuses on bridging the gap between traditional financial systems and digital assets by maintaining a heavy emphasis on regulatory compliance. Rather than operating as a purely technological layer, Noah acts as a regulated intermediary, holding more than 40 licenses, registrations, and approvals across major global jurisdictions including North America and the European Union.

The firm’s model is built on providing a "compliance-as-a-service" approach for businesses that lack the resources or desire to navigate complex local licensing requirements themselves. By consolidating various regulatory permissions under one roof, Noah enables its partners—ranging from global marketplaces to payroll providers—to integrate stablecoin rails without the typical multi-year lead times associated with financial licensing. This strategy has allowed Noah to scale rapidly within the fintech sector, positioning itself as a primary competitor to traditional correspondent banking networks and legacy cross-border payment processors that have been slower to adopt blockchain-based settlement layers.

What FF News has reported before

FF News has closely followed Noah’s trajectory throughout 2026 as it solidified its position in the stablecoin ecosystem. In October, we reported that Noah Secures $38m Seed Round to Accelerate Enterprise Stablecoin Adoption, a funding milestone that has directly fueled the regulatory expansion seen today. The company’s focus on utility was evident earlier in the year when Noah Integrates Global Dollar Network to Launch Reward-Bearing Enterprise Treasuries, expanding the financial instruments available to its corporate clients.

Furthermore, Noah has been active in establishing strategic partnerships to bridge geographic and technical gaps. This includes an initiative where Cedar and Noah Partner to Bridge African B2B Trade with Stablecoin Infrastructure, and a collaboration with Bron where Bron and Noah Partner to Launch Global Stablecoin On-Ramp for Self-Custody Wallets. These reports highlight a consistent strategy of building the underlying plumbing for the next generation of global trade.

What this means

The acquisition of both MiCA and PSD2 licenses represents a significant shift in how stablecoins are integrated into the European financial ecosystem. By operating under both frameworks, Noah effectively bridges the gap between crypto-specific regulation and established payment directives. This moves the needle by positioning stablecoins as a mainstream payment rail capable of competing directly with traditional networks like SEPA. For the industry, this puts immense pressure on traditional correspondent banks and legacy processors that have been slow to modernize. It raises a critical question: will the future of cross-border payments be won by those with the most licenses? In the current climate, regulatory dominance is becoming the primary barrier to entry.
