KAYAK for Business and Mesh Payments Partner to Automate Corporate Travel Expenses
By Lauren Towner · 13 October 2026

KAYAK for Business and Mesh Payments have entered a strategic partnership to integrate corporate travel booking with real-time expense management. For fintech professionals, this represents a significant move toward the "invisible expense report," merging travel inventory with localized virtual cards to provide finance teams with immediate visibility into corporate spend at the moment of purchase rather than weeks later.
What was announced
The partnership integrates the KAYAK for Business travel planning and booking engine with the Mesh Payments intelligent corporate card and expense platform. The collaboration aims to solve the "three systems" problem common in corporate travel, where booking, payment, and expensing operate in silos that only reconcile after a trip has concluded. Under the new integrated offering, every transaction is coded, matched to a specific trip and traveler, and reconciled automatically.
The system works by allowing travelers to search and book travel within the familiar KAYAK interface, which draws from a broad inventory including direct supplier connections, New Distribution Capability (NDC), and Global Distribution Systems (GDS). Payments are handled via Mesh virtual cards, which can be issued locally in more than 40 countries, or through a company’s existing corporate card program. Crucially, corporate travel policies are applied at the point of purchase, ensuring compliance before the money is spent.
Artificial intelligence is utilized across both platforms to streamline the user experience. KAYAK for Business employs a hybrid AI approach, allowing travelers to build bookable trips using natural-language requests and manage changes via conversational AI. On the backend, Mesh’s AI identifies the purpose of each transaction to complete expense documentation automatically. The integrated solution is scheduled for full availability by December 2026 and will be showcased to industry leaders at the Business Travel Show America, held October 14 to 15 at the Javits Center in New York.
"Booking a business trip should be as easy as booking a personal one and visible to finance from the moment it starts," said Eva Fouquet, SVP of KAYAK for Business. "With Mesh, the booking, the card, and the expense all sit around a single trip. Travelers book with a tool they already know, and finance sees travel spend as it happens instead of figuring it out weeks later."

The companies involved
KAYAK for Business is the corporate travel solution powered by KAYAK, a brand widely recognized for its traveler-first search and booking technology. The platform focuses on bringing the ease of consumer travel booking to the corporate world, integrating diverse inventory sources like NDC and GDS to provide a comprehensive search experience. By positioning itself as a "traveler-first" tool, it seeks to reduce the friction often associated with rigid legacy corporate booking systems.
Mesh Payments is an intelligent corporate card and expense platform designed for global organizations. The company specializes in providing finance teams with granular spend controls and automated reconciliation tools. A key differentiator for Mesh is its ability to issue virtual cards locally in over 40 countries, which helps global enterprises manage cross-border spend more efficiently. Led by Co-Founder and CEO Oded Zehavi, Mesh focuses on creating a "single source of truth" for finance departments, moving away from the delayed reporting cycles of traditional corporate card programs. The company’s place in the market is defined by its emphasis on real-time visibility and the automation of the entire spend lifecycle, from the initial budget allocation to the final month-end close.
What this means
This partnership signals a continued shift in the fintech landscape toward the total unification of Travel and Expense (T&E). By embedding payment and policy controls directly into the booking flow, the industry is moving closer to a model where the "expense report" as a manual task effectively disappears. Legacy players in the corporate travel management space are under increasing pressure to match the user experience of consumer-grade tools while providing the deep financial controls that Mesh offers. However, the December 2026 availability date is a notable outlier in an industry that usually moves faster, raising questions about the technical complexity of achieving deep, cross-platform AI integration. The success of this venture will likely depend on whether the market is willing to wait for a truly seamless "single source of truth" or if competitors will fill the gap with more immediate, albeit less integrated, solutions.
