Botim Partners with Orange Egypt to Enable Direct UAE-to-Egypt Digital Wallet Remittances
By Lauren Towner · 27 October 2026

Botim has partnered with Orange Egypt to enable direct international money transfers from the UAE to Orange Cash wallets. For fintech professionals, this integration bridges a critical gap in one of the region’s busiest remittance corridors, streamlining cross-border flows between the UAE’s Egyptian diaspora and Egypt’s mobile wallet ecosystem.
What was announced
The partnership enables users in the United Arab Emirates to send international money transfers directly to Orange Cash wallets in Egypt via the Botim app. This collaboration targets one of Botim’s five largest international remittance corridors, connecting the 2 million Egyptian users on its platform with the 10 million Orange Cash wallet holders in Egypt. Under the new arrangement, transfers can be initiated 24/7, providing a digital alternative to traditional remittance methods.
Once the funds arrive in Egypt, beneficiaries can access them immediately through their Orange Cash wallets. The funds can be used for a variety of financial needs, including domestic money transfers, bill payments, and retail purchases. For those requiring physical currency, the partnership provides access to more than 300,000 cash-out points across Egypt, encompassing Orange retail stores, ATMs, and a network of authorized retailers. The initiative is designed to simplify the cross-border transfer process, making it as seamless as domestic payments while supporting broader financial inclusion goals in Egypt. The service also integrates with Orange Egypt’s existing promotional framework, which includes cashback offers and grand-prize incentives for wallet users.
"Digital wallets have transformed how people move money, yet they remain largely disconnected across borders. This fragmentation limits their potential to make international remittances more accessible and affordable. At Botim, we're working to bridge that gap by building a network that connects users in the UAE directly to their families preferred digital wallets back home. Egypt is already among our top five remittance corridors, and partnering with Orange Cash, with its established reach in the market, brings us one step closer to making cross-border transfers as seamless as domestic payments."

What FF News has reported before
FF News has closely followed Botim’s expansion into diverse financial services. The platform recently collaborated with a major card scheme in Botim and Mastercard Launch EEMEA’s First All-in-One Card Solution. Its efforts to cater to specific expatriate communities were previously highlighted in Botim and BDO Unibank Partner to Boost Financial Literacy for UAE-Bound Filipinos. Additionally, the company has focused on foundational financial infrastructure, as seen in Botim Money Launches Virtual IBANs to Drive Financial Inclusion for UAE Workers. Beyond traditional fiat services, the platform has also explored digital asset integration, reported in MultiBank Group’s mb.io Integrates Botim for Seamless Crypto Funding in UAE.
What this means
This announcement moves the needle by directly challenging the dominance of traditional exchange houses in the UAE-Egypt corridor. By enabling 24/7, wallet-to-wallet transfers, Botim and Orange Egypt are addressing the fragmentation that has historically kept remittance costs high and transaction speeds slow. Traditional players are now under significant pressure to digitize their payout networks or risk losing the high-volume Egyptian diaspora market. This move raises questions for the wider sector about when similar interoperability will reach other major corridors like India or Pakistan, and whether telco-fintech partnerships will eventually render bank-led remittances obsolete in emerging markets.
