SAP Taulia Strengthens Leadership Team with New CPO and CTO Appointments to Drive AI Innovation
By Lauren Towner · 15 October 2026

SAP Taulia has appointed Kirsten Loegering as Chief Product Officer and promoted Andrew Schafer to Chief Technology Officer. These leadership changes signal a deeper integration between Taulia’s working capital solutions and the broader SAP ecosystem, specifically targeting the acceleration of AI-powered "Autonomous Finance" for enterprise-scale procurement and supply chain workflows.
What was announced
Effective 28 September, Kirsten Loegering joined SAP Taulia as Chief Product Officer, where she is tasked with leading the firm's global product strategy and roadmap. Loegering arrives at a time when enterprise demand for embedded working capital solutions is increasingly focused on AI-driven automation. Her role will involve sharpening the product roadmap and deepening the integration with SAP’s wider software suite to serve large-scale global customers. Loegering brings nearly 30 years of experience to the role, including a 25-year tenure at SAP where she rose to Vice President of Product Management for Procurement and Supply Chain Collaboration. During that time, she was instrumental in incubating SAP Supplier Relationship Management and the SAP Business Network. Most recently, she served as GM & Vice President of Product Management, Finance and Supply Chain Workflows at ServiceNow.
Simultaneously, Andrew Schafer has been promoted to Chief Technology Officer after serving as Vice President of Technology at the company. In his previous role, Schafer focused on preparing the engineering organization for AI transformation. As CTO, he will now lead the core technology architecture, with a specific mandate to advance platform security, enhance operational resilience, and accelerate the delivery of AI capabilities. Schafer’s background includes over 25 years of technology leadership, with prior experience at Meta and Avanade, as well as founding CTO roles at Arteli and ConveyIQ. These appointments are positioned as a strategic move to combine product vision with technical execution as the business scales its AI-powered innovations.
"We are at an exciting inflection point in our industry as AI and automation reshape how enterprises manage working capital, and having the right leadership is critical. Kirsten’s track record of building and scaling enterprise solutions speaks for itself, and her extensive SAP background makes her a natural fit as we move towards SAP’s vision for Autonomous Finance—connecting data and processes across the enterprise to make working capital a real-time strategic driver. Paired with Andrew’s exceptional leadership in transforming our technology foundation over the past year, we have the exact combination of product vision and technical strength needed to deliver for our customers. I’m thrilled to welcome Kirsten to SAP Taulia and celebrate Andrew’s well-deserved promotion."
Cedric Bru, Chief Executive Officer at SAP Taulia.
The companies involved
SAP Taulia is a leading provider of working capital management solutions, operating as a subsidiary of the global enterprise software giant SAP. The company specializes in bridging the gap between procurement, finance, and the supply chain by providing liquidity solutions that allow businesses to manage their cash flow more effectively. By leveraging the data within SAP’s vast ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) ecosystem, the firm enables buyers and suppliers to choose when to pay and get paid, often through supply chain finance or dynamic discounting programs.
As part of the SAP family, the company occupies a unique position in the market, sitting at the intersection of fintech and enterprise resource planning. This allows it to offer "embedded" finance solutions that are native to the workflows already used by the world’s largest corporations. The business has focused heavily on shifting working capital from a back-office administrative task to a real-time strategic driver, utilizing automation to reduce the friction traditionally associated with B2B payments and trade finance.
What FF News has reported before
FF News has closely followed SAP Taulia’s expansion and its integration efforts within the broader payments landscape. In early 2026, the publication covered how Native Payments Integration from BlueSnap Is Certified as Integrated with Cloud Solutions from SAP®, a move that strengthened the payment capabilities available to SAP users. Around the same time, the firm made significant strides in the virtual card space, as reported in Adflex and SAP Taulia Join Forces to Accelerate Virtual Card Payments and the launch of a New Suite of Global Acceptance Features for suppliers. Additionally, the company has demonstrated its ability to navigate complex regional markets, as seen when SAP Taulia Became the First Fintech to Launch a Supply Chain Finance SPV in Italy in late 2025.
What this means
The appointment of a 25-year SAP veteran as CPO suggests that the "fintech" arm of the business is being pulled much closer to the enterprise core. For the wider industry, this move highlights the growing pressure on standalone supply chain finance providers who lack deep ERP integration. As the sector moves toward "Autonomous Finance," the competitive advantage is shifting toward those who can automate credit and liquidity decisions within existing procurement workflows. The primary question for the market is whether AI can truly handle the nuances of global supply chain risk without human intervention, or if these leadership changes are primarily about streamlining the technical "plumbing" between SAP and Taulia.
