Klook Launches K.ai Agent to Automate Travel Merchant Operations and Boost Bookings
By Effie Foxtrot · 3 November 2026

Klook has launched K.ai, an agentic AI tool designed to automate back-office operations for travel experience merchants. By enabling small-scale operators to manage inventory and pricing through natural language commands, the platform addresses the chronic under-digitization of the experiences sector, offering significant efficiency gains for a fragmented global market.
What was announced
Klook has introduced K.ai, an AI agent specifically built to help experiences merchants manage their daily business operations within the Klook merchant portal. Unlike standard AI assistants that provide information or recommendations, K.ai is designed to execute tasks. It can retrieve business data and act on direct instructions, such as updating inventory levels or adjusting pricing across multiple listings.
The tool is currently being deployed through a phased global rollout ahead of the 2026 year-end travel season. It targets a significant gap in the travel industry; while 81% of flights and 66% of accommodations are booked online, only about 34% of experiences are digitized, according to Euromonitor. This is largely due to the fragmentation of the sector, where small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) make up approximately 95% of operators.
K.ai includes a one-click product listing feature that allows merchants to upload existing materials, which the AI then uses to generate structured listings with pre-filled fields. Early data indicates that tasks requiring multiple steps are completed 95% faster for individual inventory updates and 97% faster for batch checks of products and orders. Furthermore, merchants utilizing the agent have recorded 3.4 times as many monthly bookings compared to those not using the tool.
"Many experiences merchants don’t have dedicated teams to manage technology or back-office operations. With K.ai, we’re bringing the most practical and valuable agentic AI capabilities into their day-to-day operations, removing much of the manual work involved in running their businesses, so they can spend more time on what they do best: delivering meaningful experiences for travelers,"

The companies involved
Klook is a prominent global platform dedicated to the experiences and travel services sector. Headquartered in Singapore, the company has established itself as a central marketplace for tours, attractions, and local transport. It serves as a critical bridge between international travelers and local service providers, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region where it maintains a significant market presence.
The company operates in a highly fragmented vertical where digital adoption has traditionally lagged behind the broader travel industry. By providing a centralized merchant portal, Klook enables small-scale operators—who often lack the technical infrastructure for global distribution—to reach a wider audience. The platform's focus on digitizing the "in-destination" segment of travel has made it a key partner for payment networks and financial institutions looking to capture spend in the experience economy. Klook’s leadership includes Co-founder and CTO Bernie Xiong, who oversees the platform's technological integration and the development of its new AI-driven merchant tools.
What FF News has reported before
FF News has closely followed Klook’s strategic moves to deepen its integration with the financial services ecosystem. In September 2026, the platform entered a significant collaboration with a major payment network, as detailed in Klook and Visa Partner to Boost Experience-Led Travel Across Southeast Asia. This partnership aimed to support the growth of experience-led travel across six key markets.
This followed another major announcement earlier that month, reported in Klook and Mastercard Forge Strategic Alliance to Transform Travel Experiences Across Asia Pacific. These alliances highlight Klook's role in connecting payment providers with the highly fragmented experiences market. Additionally, the broader travel rewards landscape in the region was recently shaped by the launch of new financial products, such as those covered in DBS Launches Chromo and TravelLah! Cards to Revolutionise Gen Z Rewards and Travel Hacking.
What this means
The shift from generative AI to agentic AI marks a significant evolution for the travel-tech sector. While many platforms have integrated chatbots for customer service, Klook’s move to allow an AI to execute backend operational tasks addresses the primary pain point for SMEs: time poverty. By automating pricing and inventory management, the platform is effectively lowering the barrier to entry for digital commerce in the experiences vertical. This development puts pressure on competing booking platforms to move beyond static dashboards. However, the reliance on automated agents for financial decisions, such as price hikes, raises critical questions regarding algorithmic oversight and the potential for rapid, unintended market fluctuations in local tourism economies.
