Samsung Taps Checkout.com for Global Digital Commerce and Samsung Pay Expansion
By Lauren Towner · 20 October 2026

Checkout.com and Samsung Electronics have entered a global partnership to integrate high-performance payment capabilities across Samsung’s digital commerce ecosystem. For fintech professionals, this move signals a significant expansion of Samsung Pay’s merchant reach and demonstrates Checkout.com’s growing influence in managing complex, multi-region payment flows for the world’s largest technology enterprises.
What was announced
The partnership establishes Checkout.com as a primary payment service provider for Samsung Electronics’ global digital commerce environments. While Checkout.com already processes payments for Samsung Gulf Electronics in the MENA region, this new agreement extends that support to the European Union and North America. The integration covers multiple platforms, including Samsung.com and the Galaxy Store.
Central to the technical implementation is Samsung’s adoption of Intelligent Acceptance, an AI-powered optimization engine from Checkout.com. This technology utilizes real-time data from a global network to optimize transaction routing, which is designed to reduce payment failures and improve overall authorization rates. Additionally, Samsung Pay is scheduled to launch on Flow, Checkout.com's low-code payments integration platform, on October 31. This allows Checkout.com’s existing merchant base to easily add Samsung Pay as a digital wallet option for online and in-app checkouts.
The scale of the partnership is significant, given Samsung’s reach of over 1 billion Galaxy phone users. For Checkout.com, the deal reinforces its momentum in the enterprise sector, where it now serves more than 1,700 large-scale merchants. The company reported reaching $750 million in annualized net revenue, representing 28% year-over-year growth. Its North American operations have been a primary driver of this performance, with processing volumes in the United States growing by more than 120% year-to-date.
"As Samsung continues to build connected digital experiences for customers around the world, we need payment infrastructure that is flexible, reliable and ready to scale across markets. Our partnership with Checkout.com will support that ambition, helping us create a more consistent foundation for digital commerce and bring Samsung Pay to more merchants through Flow."
Woncheol Chai, Executive Vice President, Samsung Electronics.

Under the leadership of Chief Revenue Officer Antoine Nougué, the firm has secured high-profile partnerships with other major technology and retail brands, including Microsoft, Spotify, and Best Buy. What FF News has reported before
FF News has closely followed Checkout.com’s aggressive expansion and product development throughout 2026. In September, the publication covered how the company recorded 126% US growth and launched a new North American payment suite to better serve enterprise clients in the region. This followed a report on how the provider leveraged Primer for Partners to accelerate its global payment capabilities.
The company has also been active in regional infrastructure, recently integrating the Jaywan card scheme into its UAE platform. More recently, FF News reported on a collaboration where Moomoo partnered with Visa and Checkout.com to enable real-time deposits via Apple Pay and Google Pay, highlighting Checkout.com's role in the digital wallet ecosystem.
What this means
This partnership highlights the intensifying battle for "wallet share" among big tech players. By integrating with Checkout.com’s Flow, Samsung Pay is lowering the barrier for entry for merchants, directly challenging the ubiquity of Apple Pay and Google Pay in the web-checkout space. For the wider industry, it underscores the necessity of AI-driven optimization in reducing false declines, which remains a multi-billion dollar friction point in global e-commerce. It also cements Checkout.com's position as a preferred partner for "Big Tech" firms looking to bypass legacy banking fragmentation. The move puts pressure on traditional acquirers to offer similar low-code, high-optimization tools to retain enterprise-level clients.
