Juspay and Wego Expand Partnership to Scale Travel Payments Across MENA
By Ali Paterson · 9 September 2026

Global payments technology firm Juspay has expanded its partnership with Wego, the Middle East and North Africa’s largest online travel marketplace. For fintech professionals, this move highlights the growing necessity of payment orchestration in scaling cross-border travel platforms, enabling Wego to rapidly integrate local payment methods and service providers as it enters new regional markets.
What was announced
Announced in Dubai on September 8th, 2026, the expanded partnership focuses on strengthening Wego’s payment infrastructure as it scales across the MENA region and globally. By utilizing Juspay’s unified payment orchestration layer, Wego can now connect with more than 300 payment service providers (PSPs) and acquirers worldwide. This technical framework allows the travel marketplace to bypass the complexities of individual integrations when entering new territories, instead offering travellers locally relevant payment methods (LPMs), digital wallets, and credit or debit options they already trust.
The integration has already yielded measurable improvements in payment performance. Wego has reported higher authorization rates driven by Juspay’s intelligent transaction routing, 3D Secure (3DS) optimization, and automated retry logic. These features are designed to recover eligible failed payments and provide unified error mapping, which gives the platform greater visibility into transaction issues across different providers for faster resolution.
The scale of the technology supporting this expansion is significant. Juspay’s global infrastructure currently processes more than 300 million transactions daily and has reached an annualized Total Payment Volume (TPV) exceeding $1 trillion. The system maintains a 99.999% uptime, providing the reliability required for a high-volume travel marketplace that serves millions of users searching for flights and hotels from hundreds of airlines and agencies.
"Wego has built its leadership in MENA by understanding how travellers across the region search, compare, and book travel, and by continuously adapting our platform to their evolving needs. Payments are an important part of that experience. As we scale across markets with different payment behaviours, our partnership with Juspay gives us the flexibility to offer more locally relevant ways to pay while maintaining a simple and reliable booking journey. This is part of our broader commitment to using technology and local market insight to make travel easier and more accessible for our users."

What FF News has reported before
FF News has closely followed the evolution of the payment orchestration market and the specific growth of these two entities. This prior coverage detailed the early efforts to unify the checkout experience for travellers in the region. What this means
This announcement signals a shift in the MENA travel sector, where payment orchestration is moving from a competitive advantage to a baseline operational requirement. As regional markets like Saudi Arabia and the UAE continue to digitize at pace, travel platforms face immense pressure to support a fragmented landscape of local payment schemes. Single-acquirer strategies are increasingly insufficient for platforms with Wego’s scale. This partnership places traditional payment gateways under pressure to provide better interoperability. The central question for the industry now is how quickly local banks can modernize their legacy systems to interface effectively with these sophisticated orchestration layers that are now dictating the flow of regional commerce.
