t54 Labs Hits 10 Million Agentic Transactions on XRP Ledger as AI Economy Scales
By Lauren Towner · 2 October 2026

t54 Labs has processed over 10 million machine-initiated transactions on the XRP Ledger, signaling a significant shift toward autonomous AI agents as primary economic actors. For fintech professionals, this milestone highlights the rapid emergence of agent-native financial infrastructure, where software manages delegated authority and credit without constant human intervention, reshaping how liquidity moves across decentralized networks.
What was announced
t54 Labs, which positions itself as the trust layer for the agentic economy, reached the 10-million transaction mark on the XRP Ledger (XRPL). This volume reflects a broader trend in autonomous software activity; recent data indicates that 50% of all transactions on the XRPL are now initiated by agents. The network currently ranks second only to Solana in terms of x402 transaction count, a standard specifically designed for agentic payments. This growth is mirrored on other networks, with Chainalysis reporting that x402 transactions on Base grew from near zero in mid-2025 to over 100 million cumulative transactions by the end of Q1 2026.
The company’s agent-native credit product, Claw Credit, has seen significant uptake with more than 169,000 AI agents applying for credit lines. To date, approximately $650,000 in credit has been extended to these autonomous entities. This system allows agents to exercise controlled spending power, removing the requirement for users to pre-fund every individual transaction or grant software unrestricted access to digital wallets. Beyond the XRPL, t54’s infrastructure is integrated with Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, where it has governed over 20 million transactions. These micro-payments, typically ranging from $0.001 to $0.01, utilize the company’s Trustline engine to assess risk before settlement. Additionally, t54 contributed to a cross-institutional research paper proposing the Agentic Risk Standard (ARS), a framework for applying financial risk management to AI transactions, alongside partners including Google DeepMind and Microsoft Research.
"Ten million transactions on XRPL demonstrates the speed with which agents are becoming genuine economic actors, well beyond software that simply recommends what a human should do next," said Chandler Fang, Co-founder of t54. "We are thrilled with this latest milestone in our mission to embed trust at the centre of the burgeoning agentic economy."

The companies involved
t54 Labs is led by Chandler Fang, who previously served as the Lead Product Manager of Payments at Ripple. During his tenure there, Fang managed the blockchain-powered cross-border platform known as ‘Ripple Payment.’ The startup recently secured a $5 million seed funding round to develop its trust layer infrastructure. This investment was led by Anagram and PL Capital, alongside global investment manager Franklin Templeton. Strategic support for the firm also comes from Ripple, Virtuals Ventures, and Blockchain Coinvestors.
Franklin Templeton, a major player in traditional asset management, has increasingly engaged with the digital asset space, while Ripple remains a dominant force in the enterprise blockchain sector. Blockchain Coinvestors, which operates alongside Fifth Era, provides additional venture backing within the crypto ecosystem. The involvement of these established financial and blockchain entities underscores the market's interest in creating secure protocols for machine-to-machine payments, an area that requires specialized risk management and delegated authority frameworks distinct from traditional consumer banking. These companies are collectively addressing how agents can hold delegated financial authority and access capital without removing humans from ultimate control of their funds.

What this means
The shift toward "agentic" transactions represents a fundamental change in network utilization and financial logic. When 50% of a major ledger's traffic is machine-initiated, traditional KYC and AML frameworks face immediate obsolescence. The industry is now under pressure to solve the "delegated authority" problem—how to let an AI spend money without a human clicking 'approve' every time, while still maintaining regulatory compliance and security. This announcement moves the needle by proving that agentic volume is no longer theoretical; it is a high-velocity reality. The open question for the sector is whether existing blockchains can handle the sheer scale of micro-transactions required by millions of autonomous agents without fee spikes or network congestion.
