Numou and Comera Financial Holding Partner to Boost SME Financing in UAE
By Lauren Towner · 12 October 2026

Numou and Comera Financial Holding have entered a strategic partnership to integrate comprehensive financing and payment solutions into the UAE’s SME ecosystem. By embedding Comera’s lending and merchant services into Numou’s digital marketplace, the move addresses critical liquidity and operational hurdles for small businesses, streamlining access to working capital and digital banking within a single platform.
What was announced
The partnership introduces Comera Financial Holding’s suite of financial products to the Numou digital marketplace, specifically targeting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) operating across the United Arab Emirates. The collaboration is designed to provide a unified entry point for businesses seeking financing, account opening, and digital payment processing. By integrating these services, the two entities aim to reduce the friction typically associated with business banking for smaller firms.
Under the terms of the agreement, SMEs can access working capital and supply chain financing. These facilities are intended to help businesses manage inventory procurement, settle supplier invoices, and bridge the liquidity gap between service delivery and payment receipt. The integration leverages specific entities within the CFH portfolio: Comera Finance for business lending, Comera Pay for digital payments and merchant solutions, and Comera Money for supply chain finance.
The agreement was formalised at the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) by Mohamed Al Binali, General Manager of Numou, and Akhtar Saeed Hashmi, CEO of Comera Financial Holding. Beyond credit facilities, the partnership also encompasses everyday financial management tools, including business account opening services and digital payment solutions. By combining Numou’s marketplace with CFH’s financing and payments capabilities, the partnership aims to help SMEs access the financial support they need at different stages of their business growth, from purchasing stock and paying suppliers to managing payments and funding growth. This multi-layered approach ensures that businesses can manage their entire financial lifecycle through a single digital interface.
"SME growth depends on access to capital and the ability to put it to work. At Comera Financial Holding, we are bringing financing and payments together to support that journey—from securing an order to receiving payment. Our partnership with Numou extends this approach to more businesses across the UAE, helping them respond to opportunities with greater confidence and build for the long term,"
Akhtar Saeed Hashmi, CEO of Comera Financial Holding.
The companies involved
Numou operates as a subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), the international financial centre located in the capital of the United Arab Emirates. As part of the ADGM ecosystem, Numou functions as a digital marketplace designed to bridge the gap between financial institutions and the SME sector. The platform serves as a critical link in the UAE's financial infrastructure, aiming to improve the ease of doing business for smaller firms that often face barriers in traditional banking environments.
Comera Financial Holding (CFH) is a prominent financial services entity based in Abu Dhabi and is a constituent of the Royal Group, a major conglomerate with diverse interests across the region. CFH manages a broad portfolio of financial services through its specialised subsidiaries. These include Comera Finance, which focuses on corporate and SME lending; Comera Pay, which provides the infrastructure for digital transactions and merchant services; and Comera Money, which handles supply chain and trade finance operations. The group’s position within the Royal Group provides it with significant market reach and institutional backing within the UAE’s financial landscape. This corporate structure allows CFH to offer a vertically integrated suite of services, positioning it as a key player in the digitisation of business banking and merchant services.
What this means
This partnership signals a shift toward the "super-app" or "one-stop-shop" model for business banking in the Middle East. By consolidating lending, payments, and supply chain finance into a single digital marketplace, Numou and CFH are directly challenging the fragmented nature of traditional SME banking. In the UAE, where SMEs often struggle with lengthy onboarding and rigid credit assessments from legacy banks, this integrated approach puts pressure on traditional lenders to digitise their own offerings. The move highlights a growing industry trend: the success of fintech platforms is increasingly dependent on their ability to provide a seamless flow from procurement to payment, rather than offering isolated financial products.
