Airtasker Launches End-to-End Task Booking Integration on ChatGPT via MCP

Airtasker has launched a first-of-its-kind end-to-end booking integration within ChatGPT, allowing users to hire local service providers without leaving the AI interface. For fintech and platform professionals, this signals a shift from AI as a discovery tool to a transactional engine capable of handling payments and contract assignments autonomously.

Airtasker has become the first local services marketplace to enable users to complete the entire lifecycle of a task—from posting and browsing offers to assigning a Tasker and making secure payments—directly within a ChatGPT conversation. This integration removes the traditional friction of redirecting users back to a proprietary app or website, a common limitation in existing AI plugins.

The technical foundation of this launch is a Remote Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that covers both sides of the Airtasker marketplace. While the initial rollout is focused on ChatGPT, the public MCP endpoint allows Airtasker to connect with other AI agents and developer tools, including Claude, Cursor, and n8n. Through these interfaces, users can describe their requirements in natural language; the AI then generates the task description, suggests an appropriate budget based on marketplace data, and facilitates the selection of a Tasker.

The move is backed by significant user data showing that UK visits to Airtasker from AI assistants have more than tripled year-on-year. Furthermore, British AI-referred visitors currently sign up at the highest rate across Airtasker’s global markets, which include Australia and the US. To incentivise adoption, ChatGPT users can receive £25 off tasks with a minimum price of £100 through the connector until 13th September 2026. Data shows these AI-driven tasks are typically worth 20% more than the marketplace average, with two-thirds involving physical labour such as removals, cleaning, and trades.
