Press Release: Tereina and Circle Partner to Embed USDC and EURC into SAP Cloud ERP for Enterprise Payments | Featured Image by FF News

Tereina and Circle have partnered to embed USDC and EURC stablecoins directly into SAP Cloud ERP, allowing enterprises to manage digital currency payments within their existing financial workflows. For fintech professionals, this represents a significant bridge between traditional ERP systems and blockchain-based settlement, potentially streamlining global treasury operations for the 84% of global commerce that runs on SAP.

What was announced

The partnership integrates Circle’s stablecoin infrastructure into Tereina’s payment environment, specifically targeting SAP Cloud ERP users through SAP Pay. This integration allows eligible businesses to access USDC for dollar-denominated workflows and EURC for euro-denominated activities without the need to implement separate, siloed systems for digital assets. By making stablecoin-powered payments a native feature of existing business applications, the collaboration aims to lower the barrier to entry for enterprise stablecoin adoption.

The technical implementation focuses on "agentic payments," where digital currency infrastructure is embedded into the applications enterprises already trust. This allows for blockchain-based settlement and provides new options for managing global payments and treasury operations. The scale of the integration is notable, as it addresses an ecosystem that generates a vast majority of global commerce, bringing digital currency infrastructure into an established enterprise payments environment without requiring businesses to replace their core operational applications.

Over the coming months, Tereina and Circle intend to conduct joint proof-of-value programs with customers and provide training for treasury and payments specialists. These initiatives are designed to incorporate stablecoin-enabled payments into broader enterprise transformation projects. Additionally, the partners will work with ecosystem participants to develop insights into real-world enterprise stablecoin adoption as these implementations progress.

"Stablecoins are increasingly becoming a core infrastructure layer for global commerce. Working with Tereina to bring USDC and EURC into the applications that enterprises already use is an important step toward making internet-native money easier to integrate into everyday business operations. By connecting Circle's infrastructure with Tereina’s enterprise payment workflows, we can help businesses realize the benefits of faster, more programmable and more globally accessible money movement."

The companies involved

Circle is a leading internet financial platform and the issuer of USDC and EURC, two of the most prominent regulated stablecoins in the market. The company operates as a bridge between traditional finance and the digital asset economy, providing the infrastructure necessary for businesses to move and settle value using blockchain technology. Circle has established itself as a central player in the stablecoin sector, frequently engaging with regulatory bodies and expanding its reach across various blockchain ecosystems to facilitate programmable money movement.

Tereina is an SAP-backed financial services company that focuses on embedding agentic payments directly into enterprise business applications. The company is led by Cedric Bru, who also serves as CEO of SAP Taulia, a major player in the working capital management space. Tereina’s primary objective is to make financial services a native component of the software environments that large corporations already use for their daily operations. By leveraging SAP’s extensive reach in the enterprise resource planning (ERP) market, Tereina positions itself as a critical intermediary for companies looking to modernize their payment infrastructure without overhauling their core operational software.

What FF News has reported before

FF News has extensively covered Circle’s efforts to integrate stablecoins into broader financial and technological ecosystems. Recently, the publication reported on how Alpen Labs Brings Circle’s USDC to Bitcoin for Native Lending and Trading, marking a first for that network. We also covered the launch of Circle’s Arc blockchain, noting that Socure Integrates RiskOS with Circle’s Arc Blockchain to Secure Real-Time Money Movement.

On the regulatory front, FF News highlighted the company's advocacy in Europe, where Circle Urges MiCA Reform to Boost European Stablecoin Liquidity and Global Competitiveness. Additionally, the broader leadership in the fintech space was recognized when Flutterwave CEO Olugbenga Agboola Named Among Global Top 100 Fintech Leaders 2026, an environment in which Circle remains a dominant force.

What this means

This partnership signals a shift from stablecoins as speculative assets to stablecoins as enterprise utility tools. By embedding USDC and EURC into SAP, the industry is moving past the "pilot" phase of blockchain and into deep integration with the backbone of global commerce. This puts significant pressure on traditional correspondent banking networks, which often struggle with the speed and transparency that blockchain-based settlement offers. The move raises critical questions for the sector regarding the speed of regulatory harmonization; as enterprise giants like SAP begin facilitating digital currency flows, the demand for clear, cross-border stablecoin frameworks will likely become the primary bottleneck for further adoption.
