Monk has launched a new Credit Management feature to address the high rate of late B2B payments, which currently affects 55% of US invoiced sales. By integrating internal payment history with external credit bureau data, the AI-native platform allows finance teams to move beyond static, instinct-based credit limits toward dynamic, data-driven risk assessment.

What was announced

Monk's Credit Management workspace is designed to centralize risk assessment by providing two distinct perspectives on customer reliability within a single interface. The "inside view" leverages Monk’s existing integration with a company's ERP and bank accounts to track real-time metrics such as days to pay, payment disputes, and short pays. This internal data is positioned as a superior predictor of future risk compared to traditional bureau reports alone, as it reflects the customer's actual behavior with the specific creditor.

The "outside view" allows users to connect their preferred credit bureau or commercial data provider directly into the platform. Monk remains agnostic regarding these external sources, acting as an aggregator that combines third-party data with the user's proprietary payment history. The system uses an AI agent to analyze these combined data points and generate a credit report featuring a suggested credit limit. While the AI provides the recommendation, the final decision remains with a human finance leader, who can approve the limit in seconds rather than manually cross-referencing multiple data sources.

The tool is available immediately for all Monk customers. Currently, more than $2 billion in receivables are processed through the Monk platform, which maintains SOC 2 Type II compliance. The company reports that its users see an average reduction of 40% in Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) by utilizing its automation tools.

"Every credit decision is a bet on whether someone pays you back. The best information for that bet is how they have paid you before, and it is already yours. We just put it to work."

The companies involved

Monk is a modern, AI-native accounts receivable (AR) platform focused on accelerating the payment cycle for businesses. The company provides a suite of tools that automate the collections process through AI agents, facilitate automatic cash application, and provide customers with a self-serve Payment Hub. By bringing credit management onto the same platform, Monk aims to create a unified environment where payment behavior and external risk data inform every stage of the receivables lifecycle.

The firm operates in the competitive fintech space for AR automation, where the focus has shifted from simple invoicing to sophisticated cash flow management. Led by CEO and cofounder George Kurdin, Monk has positioned itself as an alternative to legacy systems that often require manual data entry and lack real-time integration with banking and ERP systems. The platform's ability to handle over $2 billion in receivables highlights its scale within the mid-market and enterprise sectors, focusing on reducing friction in B2B transactions through auditable AI and automated matching.

What FF News has reported before

FF News has closely followed Monk’s rapid expansion of its AI-driven feature set over the past year. In July 2026, the publication covered the launch of Monk Launches Cash Forecast 2.0 to Automate Receivables for Finance Teams, which introduced automated liquidity projections. This followed the debut of Monk Debuts Voice Collections: AI-Powered Phone Calls for Accounts Receivable, a tool utilizing AI to handle outbound collection calls. Additionally, FF News reported on the company’s efforts to streamline back-office operations with Monk Unveils Cash Application 2.0 to Automate 80% of Payment Matching via Auditable AI. These updates collectively demonstrate a strategy of replacing fragmented manual finance tasks with a centralized, AI-augmented workflow.

What this means

This move signals a shift in the AR market from reactive collections to proactive risk management. For too long, B2B credit has been a "set it and forget it" function, leaving companies exposed when a client’s financial health fluctuates between annual reviews. By forcing internal payment data into the credit decision, Monk is challenging the dominance of traditional credit bureaus as the sole source of truth. The industry is moving toward a model where proprietary data is the primary asset. Competitors in the AR automation space will likely face pressure to integrate similar risk-modeling tools or risk becoming mere delivery mechanisms for invoices rather than strategic financial partners.
