Aspire Challenges Xero and QuickBooks with AI-Powered Accounting Platform AspireBooks
By Lauren Towner · 27 October 2026

Aspire has launched AspireBooks, an AI-driven multicurrency accounting platform that integrates bookkeeping and financial reporting directly into its existing finance stack. This move signals a significant expansion into the accounting software market, aiming to eliminate the traditional friction between moving money and recording it through automated, real-time reconciliation for global businesses.
What was announced
Aspire has introduced AspireBooks, an AI-powered multicurrency accounting platform that integrates bookkeeping and financial reporting directly into the existing finance stack used by businesses to manage their funds. The launch marks a strategic expansion for Aspire into the accounting software sector, a space traditionally led by incumbents such as Xero and QuickBooks. The platform aims to solve the long-standing issue of fragmented financial systems, where money movement and accounting records are managed in separate silos, often leading to outdated financial information and manual reconciliation.
The platform introduces "continuous bookkeeping" through the use of AI agents. These agents automatically classify transactions, suggest tax treatments, and match payments against invoices and bills in real-time. Key features include a general ledger, multicurrency support for cross-border operations, and real-time generation of profit and loss statements and balance sheets. Additionally, the platform integrates the Model Context Protocol (MCP), enabling users to ask plain-language questions about their financial statements. While currently focused on single-entity operations, Aspire has indicated that multi-entity management will be added in the future. The product was developed in collaboration with Singapore Accountants to ensure alignment with local standards. AspireBooks is currently available to businesses in Singapore for S$39 per month, with a three-month free introductory period.
The companies involved
Aspire provides an integrated finance stack designed for global businesses, offering services that span corporate cards, expense management, and cross-border payments. The company has established itself as a significant player in the Southeast Asian fintech space and has recently moved to expand its footprint globally. This international growth is evidenced by the company securing an EMI license in the European Union and establishing a new hub in the Netherlands to serve the European market. Its platform is designed to consolidate financial operations that are typically spread across multiple banking and software providers.
Singapore Accountants served as the founding accounting partner for the development of AspireBooks. As a professional services firm, they provided the necessary accounting expertise to ensure the platform aligned with Singapore’s regulatory standards and supported the product's testing phase with active customers. Their involvement was centered on transitioning the role of the accountant from manual data entry toward higher-value tasks such as compliance, review, and strategic advice. By embedding these professional standards into the AI-driven platform, the collaboration sought to ensure that the automated categorisation and reconciliation processes meet the requirements of formal financial reporting.
What FF News has reported before
FF News has extensively covered Aspire’s growth and its strategic partnerships within the global financial ecosystem. In late 2025, the company marked a major milestone when Aspire Enters Europe with EU EMI License and New Netherlands Hub. This expansion was bolstered by technical and compliance-focused collaborations, such as when Aspire Partners with Flagright to Bolster AI-Driven Financial Crime Compliance to enhance its monitoring capabilities.
The company has also focused on deepening its core transaction and payout infrastructure. Earlier in 2026, Aspire and J.P. Morgan Collaborate to Power FX Capabilities Globally, providing enhanced foreign exchange tools for its users. More recently, the company targeted specific market segments, as seen when Lumanu to Power Global Creator Payouts for Aspire’s Influencer Marketing Platform was announced to streamline payments for the creator economy.
What this means
This launch represents a direct challenge to established accounting giants like Xero and QuickBooks by attacking the "integration gap." For years, the holy grail of fintech has been the "single pane of glass," and by merging the ledger with the bank account, Aspire is betting that convenience will outweigh the brand loyalty of legacy software. This puts significant pressure on standalone accounting platforms to either deepen their banking integrations or risk being relegated to a secondary "export destination." The industry is clearly shifting toward "agentic" finance, where the value lies not in the software's ability to store data, but in its ability to autonomously interpret and act upon it.
